Albert William Paul
08/08/1935 - 10/16/2021
Albert W Paul was born in the Bronx, the middle child to Walter and Margueite Paul. He had two brothers, Walter older and Richie younger. He joined the Marines and was on the HMX Squadron, which is the helicopter to the President of the United States. He actively served from 1953-1958 and was honorably discharged in 1961 at the rank of Sergeant and received the good conduct medal. He graduated from NYU with a bachelor’s in engineering. He loved his work; computers were his life. He worked at Price Water House, IBM, KPMG, Minolta, and then started his own company and was very instrumental in the Y2K crisis in writing and implementing programming solutions.
While on a church youth retreat, he met Joyce Stuart whom after the weekend told his parents that he met the girl he was going to marry, and he did. They moved from the Bronx to Ridgewood, where they raised their three children, Kristin, Albert Jr, and Gretchen. In 1987, Joyce was called home to the Lord and Al took on the role of a single dad.
Al engaged in taking flying lessons, a passion of his, and got his pilots license. He bought a plane, which he enjoyed for 15 years. After retirement and an empty nest, he moved to Florida and kept himself very busy with all of his organizations and clubs; the Marine Corp League, American Rifleman Club, the Sons of the American Revolution, Shooting Club, and the Genealogy Club.
The family always enjoyed visiting and creating wonderful memories in his Florida home. Besides his three children, he was blessed to have three grandchildren; Calvin, Lindsay, and Albert III. Al always said that God knew when it was going to be his time, and also always said he wanted to go peacefully in his sleep. God granted that wish on October 16th, 2021. He is now reunited with his wife, parents, and two brothers. He is survived by his children; Kristin Graham, Albert Paul, and Gretchen Paul, three grandchildren; Calvin Graham, Lindsay Graham and Albert Paul III and many nieces and nephews.
