Roberta Sue "Bobbi" Hanson
06/18/1944 - 09/29/2023
To our family and friends, we want to share the passing of our mother, Roberta “Bobbi” Hanson. She was born on June 18, 1944 and was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She met our father, Robert “Bob” when he was a college student and she was in high school. They were soulmates who married on August 30, 1963, had their first daughter, Traci, in August 1965 and their second daughter, Kris, in December 1967. They moved to Naples in 1968 and to Nokomis in 1970 where they built their home in Mission Valley. They worked at local companies and were active in the community with both the YMCA and Scouting. In the 80’s, they owned several businesses some of which were still in operation until retirement. Their children provided them with in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Traci is divorced and has a son, Robert “Bobby”. Kris married Jeff Marquardt and they have Steven and Caryn. Steven has a daughter, Avery and Caryn, and her husband Drew, have a son Ryker and a daughter Kinley.
Mom lost Dad in 1998 and missed him ever since. She has been suffering from COPD for the past few years and recently was hospitalized with aspiration pneumonia. After a 2-week battle, it came to a point where she knew the end was coming and made the decision to stop fighting. She entered Hospice on Thursday, September 28th and passed away on Friday, September 29th, surrounded by her family.
She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed more than words can say.
She has chosen to not have services and her ashes will be spread with our Dad as well as a place where she found peace and had squirrels to feed.
